In a small region on the Greek coast where the local economy is still based on fishing and farming, Gioulalives in harmony with her surroundings: her family, dogs, cats, bees, chickens, horses, and hundreds of ancient olive trees. When they hear of plans to build a golf course for wealthy foreigners, Gioula and fellow farmers join forces to preserve their way of life and nature perceived as «the mother of all creatures».
