A family extends its network in the lower Po Plain. Nomadic pastoralists for generations, they move to temporary pastures in highly anthropized areas hidden from sight. Their subsistence strategy depends on the herding of animals in marginal environments of a modern agro-food global economy. Family ties remain strong. Through the eye of the camera, the reality of nomadic life in fringe landscapes and in conflicts is depicted without disrupting the passage of time. This ethnographic study was filmed in 2020 for the Ethnographic and Social History Archive (AESS) of the Lombardy regional administration.
