The challenge of climate change and the return to abandoned rural areas have helped forests reclaim their former importance as social and economic growth factors. Forests provide for ecosystem services that are essential for the environment and efforts to mitigate global warming. To accomplish this, monitoring and planning are necessary in the management of the relationship between man and forest.
