In the dawn of 8 November 2018, a spark from an electrical power line set off one of northern California’s worst wild fires. In the grips of exceptional drought caused by climate change, the city of Paradise in the Sierra Nevada foothills went up in smoke and ashes. Faced with the damage, human and property loss, the city residents banded together against continued threats. One year in the making, the documentary presents a portrait of a resilient community better prepared to redefine the priorities of protecting the environment and the social fabric for rebuilding a new Paradise.
