We are pleased to present Cinemambiente’s fourth edition, in its new International festival image, a renewal which shows this exhibition’s growth and its ability to put together environmental and cinematographic cultures.
In the course of just a few years this exhibition has quickly developed thus becoming the main Italian event in the sector, capable of hosting the most important environmental films, their directors, actors and the people who inspired them.
It is not a coincidence that Turin is the birthplace of this event, a city with a strong cinematographic tradition, ever aware of the problems concerning safeguarding of the environment and sustainable development.
Our Administration has been working hard to make people discover both Piedmont and Turin’s attractions, and has organised several cultural events in order to contribute to the promotion of the city’s image.
Cinemambiente is by now an integral part of a strong “cinema system” which is also recognised abroad. We are pleased to point out that Cinemambiente has proven itself to be an event well established within the cultural fibre of both Turin and the region.
We were particularly impressed by the attention dedicated to the young and the choice of films in the Eco Kids section that was by no means easy.
Furthermore we want to emphasise the rigour with which the organisers have selected the films, the homage paid to the great director, Robert Flahery, and the blend of both well-known directors and young talent.
Sure of the festival’s success, we welcome both the directors and the audience, whilst thanking the organisers for their efforts in setting up this excellent event.
