Frank Marshall (Los Angeles 1946), Spielberg's producer, following work on part two of Indiana Jones, debuted as director with Arachnophobia in 1990. He then made Alive (1993) and Congo (1995). True to this filmmaker-producer's penchant for survival and animal themes, all his films feature stories about spiders, apes, dinosaurs (Jurassic Park) or horses (Seabiscuit).
