Shri Prakash

Born in 1966 in Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand, where he founded Kritika, a small independent production company, Shri Prakash has made
numerous documentaries, the best known of which is the award-winning
Buddha Weeps in Jadugoda (1999). Made on a shoestring budget, the film
documents the misery of the local populations who live with low-dose
exposure to uranium radiation around the Jadugoda mine in south
Jharkhand. He is also an activist in the Jharkhand Organization Against
Radiation (JOAR).
