Born in Burkina Faso, in 1951, Gaston KaboreÌ studied history and cinema in Paris. After returning to Burkina Faso, he has become Director of the National Cinema Centre of Ouagadougou and holds cinema courses. Besides being one of the most popular directors and having realized "˜classics' such as Wend Kuuni, Zan Boko, Raabi, Buud Yam, KaboreÌ is a reference figure for the African cinema; he has been Secretary General of the Fepaci and Director of the magazine "˜Ecrans d'Afrique'.
