Franco Andreone


Zoologist with the Regional Museum of Natural Science, Turin, his areas of interest are ecology, taxonomy and conservation of amphibians and reptiles, particularly those of Madagascar where he directs the IUCN Amphibian Specialist Group. He received the 2011 Sabin Award for Amphibian Conservation. He is a member of the scientific committee of WWF Italia and past president of the International Society for the Study and Conservation of Amphibians. In his work he has combined research, museum and communications science in the belief that educating the general public is key to promoting action to save the planet.
