She is full professor of plant pathology, University of Turin, director of the Centro di Competenza per l’Innovazione in campo agro-ambientale e agro-alimentare (AGROINNOVA), and president of the Società Italiana di Patologia Vegetale (S.I.Pa.V.) She was president of the International Society for Plant Pathology (ISPP) from 2008 to 2013 and vice rector for Internazionalizzazione e la Ricerca, University of Turin, until 2013. A prolific writer, she is editor of the book series Plant Pathology in the 21st Century (Springer Verlag).
