Luc Jacquet, biologist by training, discovered his interest in documentary filmmaking on mission with an expedition to Antarctica during which he worked as director of photography. Directorial titles to his credit include Oscar-winning The March of the Penguins (2005), The Fox and the Child (2007), Ice and the Sky (2015), and The March of the Penguins 2: the Next Step (2017). In 2010 he founded Wild-Touch, an NGO to develop and support media projects to raise awareness of environmental issues. He received the Movies Save the Planet award at the 2015 CinemAmbiente.
