Victor Kossakovsky began working at the Documentary Studies, then Leningrad, as assistant director and editor in 1978. His final year film in the Film Directing and Screenplay Writing School, Moscow, was Losev (1989). He founded Kossakovsky Film Production with the idea of making films that expressed poetry and reality. Titles to his credit include Belovy (1994), Pavel e Lyalya (1999), Tishe! (2003), Svyato (2005), and ¡Vivan las Antipodas! (2011).
