Vincenzo Notaro graduated DAMS, Bologna, then attended the film direction workshop conducted by Silvio Soldini, Giuseppe Piccioni, and Daniele Luchetti, before collaborating on film projects. His debut short was Ferragosto (2006), followed by the documentaries Ritratti di borghi (2010), Mani fasciate (2011), ART.639 (2014), and Ci vuole un fiore (2017), which ran in the Italian documentary competition at the 20th CinemAmbiente.
