James Cunningham has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in photography and a Master of Fine Arts in digital animation from Elam School of Fine Arts (Auckland). He directed several short films, such as Infection (2000), Poppy (2009), Das Tub (2011), Shelved (2013) and Over the Moon (2013).
