Cosima Dannoritzer

Director Germania

Born in Dortmund, Germany, in 1965, since 1992 she has made films about history, ecology and the relationship between technology and society for TV broadcasters (BBC, Arte, Deutsche Welle, and Televisión Española) in the UK, Germany and Spain. Her works, screened and winners of awards at several international film festivals, include Rebuilding Berlin (1992), winner of the Journalism Prize of the Anglo-German Society in 1993, the series produced for BBC & YLE (the Finnish Broadcasting Company), Germany Inside Out (2002), If Rubbish Could Speak (2003), The Light Bulb Conspiracy (2010), about the history and impact of planned obsolescence, and The E-Waste Tragedy (2014). She is also co-writer with Jürgen Reuß of Kaufen für die Müllhalde - Das Prinzip der Geplanten Obsoleszenz (2013) about the history of planned obsolescence. Cosima is currently working on a film about the effects of speed and acceleration on society.
