Manuela FreÌsil studied at Femis and worked with Jean Rouch; her directorial debut film was the documentary Terre neuva (1994), followed by Si loin des beÌ‚tes (2005) on the relationship between man and animals, and Les nuits de la preÌfecture (2005) about the acceptance of foreigners in France.
