He is a native of Padua where he teaches literature. He authored Savana Padana (TEA 2012), The Bear Skin (Guanda 2013), adapted for a film of the same name, directed by Marco Segato and starring Marco Paolini, Apri gli occhi (TEA 2016), awarded the Premio della Montagna Cortina d'Ampezzo, and Dove porta la neve (TEA 2017). He writes about culture for “Il Foglio”. His novels are often set in mountainous regions, deal with the relationship between man and nature, and with literary ecology. His books have been translated into several languages. The Frontier of the Soul, his most recent work, has appeared in translation in the U.S., the U.K., Australia, Canada, Germany, and the Netherlands before its publication by Mondadori in Italy.
