Founder and director of the monthly «Alp» and the biannual «L’Alpe», has directed the journal «Piemonte Parchi» and contributes to «La Stampa». Editor of numerous non-fiction works, including La nuova vita delle Alpi, Il Cervino è nudo and Ghiaccio vivo and author of five novels, such as La guerra di Joseph and L’ultima Camel Blu. Together with Vincenzo Pasquali he produced and directed La montagna inventata (2000). He designed the Museum of the Alps, housed at the Bard Fortress in the Aosta Valley.
