Luigi Abramo studied performing arts at the University of Rome. He works as author, director's and producer's assistant on film, theater and TV productions, collaborating with directors such as Guido Chiesa and Pupi Avati. The short Discanto (1995), his directorial debut film he produced himself, won awards at the Venice Film Festival; Rose (1997) earned him the Ministry of Culture Quality Award. He has directed over 20 documentaries for the I mestieri del cinema series produced by the National School of Cinema. Emanuele Piano is a free lance journalist who writes about Africa and forgotten crises for weekly and daily publications including "L'Espresso", "Diario", "Manifesto" and "Liberazione", along with assignments for national and international TV productions: Rai 3, La7, CBS and ABC. With Sudan (Another African Story) (2005), about the Darfur emergency, he won the 11th Ilaria Alpi Award.
