Goro Miyazaki (Tokyo, 1967) received a diploma in forest sciences from the School of Agriculture of the University of Shinshu before working as construction consultant and collaborating on urban parks and woodlands projects. Since 1998 he has been responsible for designing the Ghibli Museum, Mitaka, and was its director from 2001 to 2005. In 2004 he received the Ministry of Education Encouraging New Artists award. He directed and wrote the screenplay for Tales from Earthsea; he also wrote the film's theme and end songs.
