Joined the CISL Labor Organization (Milan) in 1986 and held the office of national secretary for the garment workers union (Rome). The following year, he founded Adiconsum, where he was general secretary until June 2011. He was vice president of the European Committee of Consumers and is currently a member of the EU workgroup on energy and the board of ANEC (European Association for the Co-ordination of Consumer Representation for Standardization), and president of the Values and Rules Commission of Coop Nordest.
