He was born in Naples, grew up in Palermo, and lives in Ferrara. He is an engineer and founding partner of Società SGM Ingegneria s.r.l., Ferrara, specialized in cleaning up contaminated sites, and of Labelab s.r.l., Bologna, owner of web portals for the dissemination of information under open content license. He is the scientific director and event director of Fare i Conti con l’Ambiente, held in Ravenna every year since 2008. He was contract professor of environmental economics on the graduate program in civil engineering, School of Engineering, University of Ferrara, from 2008 to 2011, and is currently contract professor of environmental law on the course in economics and management, University of Ferrara. Following his keen interest in cinema, and environmental cinema in particular, together with local associations he has organized events and screenings of films about the environment.
