Noel Marshall


Noel Marshall (April 18, 1931, Chicago ... June 30, 2010) was an agent in Hollywood, California in the 1960s. He later became the executive producer of the 1973 horror film The Exorcist. He wrote, directed, co-produced and starred in the film Roar (1981), which also featured his then-wife Tippi Hedren, stepdaughter Melanie Griffith, and his sons from a previous marriage to Jaye Joseph. Roar was an accident-ridden film that featured tigers and lions. The film took eleven years and $17 million to make, and brought in only $2 million worldwide.Marshall, who was married to Hedren from 1964 to 1982, was also an executive producer on two of her films, Mr. Kingstreet's War and The Harrad Experiment (both 1973). One of his later films where he was credited as executive producer was A Night in the Life of Jimmy Reardon (1988), starring River Phoenix.Marshall died of brain cancer on June 30, 2010.
