Born in French Canada in 1978, Julien Boisvert learns to make films while member of a video-activist collective in the early 2000s. Now a professional filmmaker, Julien continues his work on independent, political shorts, while still maintaining a distance from ideological affiliations.
Director Statement
Boisvert's work as a filmmaker shifts the relationship between the real and the fictional, between serious thought and humour, between the spectator and the actor. His last project, "Sponsor A Wealthy Child", is an interactive fiction that brings the public into an inverted humanitarian campaign. It was screened in several festivals and the project received international media attention.
